Lessons From Mamacita

I have been pondering mistakes over the past week, there are many different types of mistakes with vary degrees of severity. You can make the common mistake of forgetting ones name or the grevious mistake of running a red light ( which by the way can be expensive). Some mistakes can be costly while others just reek havic with your emotions. The important thing is to recognize the mistake for what it is and own up to the problem. Don't justify or make excuses or the worst blame someone else for your mistake. When we own up to the misdeed we become empowered to do the right thing and make ammends. That is when your true character comes out and integrity shines. So go forward and be honest with yourself, you will find greater courage and strength as you do so.

Situation to ponder....You go shopping and when you get home you discover that the store did not charge you for a 50 cent candy bar, what do you do?

  1. I know what this is in reference to... thanks for the lessons on integrity mom. I seem to remember a time or 2 when you have returned a pack of gum or candy bar. Love you.

  2. Hi, Sister Hunt. You don't know me but I sure do love that Miss Tina Fabulous. I was just talking to my mom about this tonight--I have a cousin who just struggles and struggles to make good choices and consequently, even though she's a great girl, her life is really messy.

All of our lives are filled with things that impact our decisions--mistakes our parents might have made in raising us, the hard day we're having at work, the mean people at the store who we hate talking to, etc. We can all find reasons we can point to in order to explain our behavior and actions, but it isn't until we learn to stop blaming that we actually become able to consciously own our lives, our experiences, and the opportunity to change and become the best we can through the Atonement. I think personal responsibility is one of the first steps to happiness.
